RTR-X Mustang
Drift car builder Team Need for Speed and Mustang drift racer Vaughn Gittin Jr. are joining forces to build the RTR-X Mustang to debut at the 2010 SEMA show in Las Vegas. The RTR-X Mustang follows Gittin Jr.'s two previous models, the RTR Mustang and RTR-C Mustang which we saw at the 2009 SEMA show. The RTR-X Mustang will use as a starting point the 1969 Dynacorn Mustang replacement body shell with horsepower coming by way of a new 5.0-liter V-8 engine from the 2011 Mustang GT.
Vaughn and Team Need for Speed's vision was simple - build an amazing 1969 Ford Mustang that was aggressive, slammed, functional, unique and be a performer on both the drift track and the street for daily driving.
Some of the parts and modifications found on the RTR-X Mustang include Ford Racing Boss 302R1 six-speed transmission, Kinsler throttle body injection, Motec M800 ECU coupled with Motec Sport Dash Logger digital display, Wilwood brakes, 18x10 and 18x12 Work Meister wheels, Falken RT615-K tires and a one-of-a-kind Art Morrision sub-frame assembly.
You can follow the build over at SpeedHunters.com as they chronicle the whole project from start to finish.
