Mitsubishi has its Ralliart tuned Evolutions in the U.K. and are given the FQ designation (FQ stands for different things depending on who you ask.)  Subaru has had to sit back and watch as their competition made more powerful cars. Now with their partnership with engine-tuning legend Cosworth, Subaru seems to be headed straight for the top of the line Evolution FQ400.

The marriage of the two companies is called the Impreza STi CS400. Autocar is reporting that the standard Subaru 2.5L turbocharged engine has been gone through and received better pistons, conrods, bearings, headgaskets, and a better oil pump. The turbo has been tweaked with a new compressor and wastegate actuator, as well as a better in-house exhaust design. The overall package is topped with an ECU-reflash that results in 395hp and 398 ft lbs of torque.
Performance is blistering, as it will reach 62 mph in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of a limited 155 mph.

Suspension has been taken care of thanks to partnering up with Bilstein and Eibach which helped lower the ride height nearly half-an-inch and stiffened up the ride. The front brake tweaks are provided by AP Racing and increased the disc size to 14 inches. Finishing off the unsprung-weight components are the special 18 inch wheels than increased the width by 0.5 inches over the stock wheels.

For looks, the car received a new front end treatment, as well as tinted windows and a new rear spoiler. Only three paint colors will be available: silver, dark grey, and red. Inside there are new Recaro seats in place of the stock affair.

Those who want the hottest STi available anywhere better start moving to Britain, because like the Evolution FQs, this car is only going to be sold in the U.K. market, with only 75 examples being made at a cost of £49,995 each.
