In a poll by German car magazine AutoBild, Germany's largest automotive publication and in which about 100,000 readers had the opportunity to express their view on the country's most attractive car, the 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG took first place. The super-sport model won the "AutoBild Design Award" with 17 percent of votes in its favor, followed in second place by the E-Class Cabrio voted by 10.3 percent of readers, with the new 5-Series in third amassing 8.4 percent of the votes. This was the fifth time the magazine's readers were asked to participate in the contest, where they could choose from an array of 103 products in five categories.
Mercedes-Benz chief designer Prof. Gorden Wagener declared: "our vehicles are self-assured examples of refined sportiness. The SLS AMG, the E-Class Cabriolet and the F 800 Style exhibit the unmistakable style of Mercedes-Benz design, and set design trends for the future."
Mercedes-Benz also happened to win last year as well, with the award going to the E-Class Sedan.
