Infiniti M Coupe Sketches Leaked Ahead Of Pebble Beach Debut

A pair of Infiniti M vehicles will be coming to Pebble Beach according to the latest reports. The vehicles, previewed in these sketches, which appear to be leaked official images, show the core design lines as Nissan/Infiniti has typically done to preview upcoming models.

Autoblog's Damon Lavrinc appears to have snagged the sketches from a prime source, as they look to be authentic. They show about what you'd expect of an M Coupe, but also another vehicle that may preview a four-door-coupe design on the M platform. The information that comes along with the sketches says that the models will push Infiniti's product lineup into previously uncharted waters for the brand, with one of the two models being "performance oriented."

That certainly fits with the idea of a four-door coupe and actual coupe. The M Coupe would be the obvious choice to be more "performance oriented," though how Infiniti will get there isn't yet clear. They could snag the V-8 from the sedan to deliver around 420 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque. Or, as Autoblog suggests, they could go the twin-turbo V-6 route previewed by the Essence concept. That's not as far-fetched as it might sound, as the M Coupe is also rumored to get some styling cues from the Essence, specifically around the rear window kink.

We'll have to wait until August's Pebble Beach Concours to see the final product, but it's due for production shortly thereafter, so we won't have too long to wait to get behind the wheel.

  1. I would go with the twin turbo from the Essence concept, or how about use the 5 liter from the FX, either way should be an iteresting car.

  3. I posted this elsewhere, and I felt it appropriate to post it here, too:
This report seems to surmise that these Infiniti M variants could be a 2-door coupe, and perhaps a 4-door coupe. This is now making me wonder: there was a proposal of a 4-door coupe halo vehicle, to likely be Infiniti's counterpart to the Nissan GT-R (Godzilla), which was supposed to be a high-performance offering, but, this project was either put on hold, or nixed. However, with the release of the BMW Gran Coupe production-close concept at Beijing, and after the CS was regarded as dead, I'm wondering if this is a possible resurrection of sorts of an Infiniti of this type, which could be based on the new M's platform? It appears possible and logical, but, we'll know more as time goes on, that this, plus the 2-door version, would be hot, indeed! Also, the GT-R was initially supposed to be badged an Infiniti in the USA, but it decided to remain a Nissan in the USDM, maybe for tradition purposes. A 4-door coupe halo would also help fill the void of a lack of a large flagship offering now the the Q45 is history.

  4. I want to add this, and to make light of this Infiniti campaign: the side-view of a car moving into a minimalist outline reminds me of the title of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", where the famous suspense author's side-view silhouette moves into the outline, and lines up with it.

  5. Do this and do some hi po cars to take on AMG and BMWs M cars, how about a twin turbo V6 G sedan and an M with a turbo or supercharged V8
