2010 BMW M3 GTS Shows Off In Pair Of New Videos
2010 BMW M3 GTS Sold Out In Under Three Months
Preview: 2010 BMW M3 GTS - Now With High-Res...
Hot off the trail of BMW winning the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race, an interesting post popped up on M3Post.com.
A poster by the name of scott26 has mentioned that BMW might make an even hotter version of the M3 GTS, called the GTS-R. He writes, “Already in planning in the design stages the conventional M3 body style remains although the rear arches are more massaged and wider leading into the side sills , The wheels use a Y-shape design in 5 spokes said to be much lighter than the competition spec wheels.”
The car will be similar to the GTS, with lightness and driving experience in mind, but the hood and trunk lid will be made out of carbon fiber. How much power or engine choice is “obviously” not known, but the rumor suggests that the car will have more horsepower than the GTS, and will possibly use a KERS system from the upcoming M5.
Instead of the bright Inka Orange GTS, the car could be wearing a trendy matte-black finish all over, including the wheels. Price will obviously be high and production will be limited.
Rumors like this, especially from a forum, shouldn’t be taken seriously until more is heard about it. However, a last hurrah of the E92-chassis M3 before the next version comes out does make sense.
