Mosler had a knack for making really awesome road cars that looked horrible. Then along came the gorgeous Mosler MT900, the first car to ever be designed in a computer then sent straight into production. The Chevy V-8 powered supercar built in Florida (or England) is one of the prettiest supercars produced today.
Jay Leno gets a bunch of nice cars to drive on his website, but he loves the cars that are built in America, so the $189,000 Mosler MT900S is right up his alley.
The car uses the LS7 motor, producing around 535 horsepower, and is placed in mid-engine configuration. Transmission is a six speed manual, and much of the suspension is made out of chrome-moly, making it both light and strong. Like all good race cars for the street, the suspension is fully adjustable. The Wilwood brake system equipped can even be adjusted for brake-balance on the fly from the driver’s position. Total package for this car weighs to around 2500 pounds, making it one of the lighter supercars on the market.
When Jay Leno test drives a car, he really drives the cars like a normal, road-going vehicle. He never takes them to the track and give out real performance numbers. Besides the notchy shifter, he thinks the Mosler MT900S is a very easy car to drive, even fast. It also has enough ground clearance not to scrape on everything, and has decent visibility.
