It has been a long seventeen years since Chevrolet built and sold a replica of a Camaro Indianapolis 500 pace car but now the wait is over as Chevrolet has announced they will build and sell up to 200 pace car replicas.  The 2010 Camaro Indy 500 pace cars will be available through 187 of the top-selling Camaro dealers based on 2009 sales data.

The limited production pace car replicas will be based off the Camaro 2SS model with an RS appearance package including additional features unique to the actual pace car including badges and graphics.  The pace car replicas will feature a 400 horsepower 6.2-liter V-8 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with remote start.  Each of the pace car replicas will be painted Inferno Orange with a full body white pearl decal rally stripe and 20-inch polished wheels.

The 2010 Camaro pace car for the Indianapolis 500 will be driven by Robin Roberts, anchor of "Good Morning America".
