Joining the Sedan and Koup models in the ever-expanding Forte lineup, the past week’s 2010 New York Show played host to the unveiling of the third Forte variant, the brand new 2011 Kia Forte Hatchback. The latest five-door continues the brand's design-led transformation, combining a stylish new hatchback body with what should be efficient and fun-to-drive performance characteristics.

Sitting slightly lower than the sedan, the Forte Hatchback carries with it all the amenities of the Forte lineup and introduces a new front grille, alloy wheels, paddle shifters for the automatic transmission, a push-button for starting the engine and an optional navigation system.

Two different engines will be offered initially: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder mill or a 2.4-liter unit. All Forte Hatchbacks will come with six-speed transmissions, either manual or automatic.

Also on show at the New York event was the stylish new 2011 Kia Optima, as well as the previously revealed Sorrento and Sportage SUVs.
