2010 Aston Martin Rapide
The New York Auto Show is comprised of all shapes and sizes of the latest vehicles. From hatchbacks to sporty wagons, the show has a reputation of being one of the best auto shows in the country. It covers many different styles and is well known for displaying a significant amount of luxury vehicles. This year there were many outstanding models to choose from, but there were some that stood out from the crowd, making them the top five in the New York Auto Show.
1) 2011 BMW 335is
This model is a more powerful version of the 3-Series Coupe and Convertible. The cooling system has had an upgrade, the exhaust has a sportier look, and the boost has been improved on the 335i’s twin-turbo inline-six. Not only does this increase the output to 320 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, but the vehicle also has an overboost function that will allow the engine to do 370 pound-feet of torque in short intervals. The German automaker claims the vehicle can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds with the dual automatic clutch, and 5.1 seconds with the manual. One of the best cars at the show comes with an expected high price of $50,525, but it is one stunning BMW and well worth the cash.
2) 2010 Aston Martin Rapide
It goes without saying that Aston Martin was bound to show a stunning vehicle at the New York Auto Show. The four door Aston Martin Rapide comes with a standard six-speed automatic transmission and powers out a total of 470 horsepower at 6,000 rpm from its 6.0-liter V-12 engine. Taking a front view of the exterior shows a bold and butch vehicle, while a side view gives the classic sleekness of the popular Aston Martin style. This car was definitely one of the best at the show.
3) 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S
The irresistible style of the Porsche 911 gives it an edge over most other cars at the New York Auto Show. Of course, along with the impressive looks, comes a powerful engine, which affords the car a 0-60 mph time in a whopping 3.3 seconds. The twin-turbo flat-six gives 530 horsepower, enabling the top speed of the 911 an awesome 196 mph. There isn't much else to be said about this car—it’s a Porsche, and the distinctive familiarity speaks for itself. The Porsche 911 Turbo S was one of the highlights of this great auto show.
4) 2011 Mini Countryman
Obviously, the British company wasn’t going to change the looks of the Mini too much. People admire the classic and simple details of a vehicle that has been around for many years. There is the standard Countryman, but buyers also have the choice of the Mini Cooper S Countryman option, which will have a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine. This latest Mini is well worthy of the top five picks for the New York Auto Show.
5) 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX
Subaru has introduced a widebody look to the latest Impreza WRX. Other exterior features include a new front lip and a larger blacked-out grille and air intakes. All the new additions make this Impreza WRX even more fun to drive, while also adding to the excellent handling capabilities of the car. You can be sure the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX will be a head turner as it was one of the main attractions at the New York Auto Show.
There were numerous vehicles at the auto show, but these five were certainly the most impressive. They all deserve to be in the top five picks of the show, and will be making a significant impact in the auto industry in the near future.
