Fernando Alonso gets a 2010 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible

Now that two-times Formula One World Champion Fernando Alonso is driving for Ferrari, the 28-year old Spaniard has been given one of the best looking cars currently in production--but no, it’s not wearing a prancing horse on its hood.

He’s taken delivery of the ultra-stylish 2010 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible (known as the GranCabrio overseas), describing it as one of the "prettiest cars in the world." Alonso’s choice was a dark grey example with a two-tone interior finished in a mix of Pearl Beige and Bordeaux leather.

With scintillating looks, a throaty, 433 horsepower 4.7-liter Ferrari-derived V-8 engine and a convertible roof--the 2010 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible is certainly a car nut's dream cruiser. Pity the bulk of us won’t be getting a $135,800 company car anytime soon.

We wonder if Alonso picked the GranTurismo Convertible’s available Ferragamo tailored luggage set as well.

  1. The only four seat convertible with a Ferrari engine, I guess. Anyone know if Alonso has kids yet?
