A new high-performance intake manifold for 2005-10 Mustangs equipped with the 4.6-liter 3-valve V-8 was recently announced by
Ford Racing. The new intake features high-flow runners with an open plenum design that fits under the factory hood although there may be issues with fit for strut tower braces.
This new Ford Racing intake manifold was within five pound-feet of torque throughout the entire curve compared to the OEM intake manifold plus it was good for 40 additional horsepower. According to Ford Racing this intake really excels when mated to an engine using high-lift cams, high-performance CNC ported 3-valve cylinder heads or forced induction by way of a turbo or supercharger.
The part number for this new Ford Racing intake manifold is M9424463V and it sells for $549.95. Not a bad price for an aftermarket part adding 40 horsepower. This will definitely be a fan favorite for those owners who are looking for a little extra punch from their 2005-10 Ford Mustang GT's.
