It’s hard to say where the Lexus LFA stands in car enthusiasts’ eyes. On one hand it’s an exclusive supercar with an amazing dash arrangement, excellent exhaust note and comes with Lexus build quality and reliability. On the other the Lexus LFA produces numbers (0-60 in 3.6 seconds, top speed of 203mph) that can beaten by the Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 for a quarter of the price.
Now enthusiasts will be even more divided with word that the Lexus LFA is going to be available with what is being called the “Nurburgring Track Edition.”
Last year the Lexus LFA entered the Nurburgring 24 Hours in the preproduction category with cars tuned by Gazoo Racing, who also did the FT-86 G Sports Concept. This year the Lexus will run in the production category while remaining mostly stock.
To commemorate this, Lexus is making a special track version of the LFA which, according to UK-published Autocar, will feature a 10 horsepower increase and the transmission will be recalibrated for quicker shifts. The suspension will also come with more adjustability.
Visually the coupe will have a larger, fixed wing and a new front splitter. The special lightweight wheels will come with semi-slick tires. Paint colors will include Black, Matte Black (for people who love to clean their cars all the time,) Whitest White and Orange as seen in the picture.
Only 500 LFAs will be built, and there is no word that this will include the special edition or not or on price.
