NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kurt Busch has had much success on the NASCAR circuit winning 20 races in his career but he will test his driving skills for a different type of racing in March. The 31-year-old Busch will get behind the wheel of his race-prepared 1970
Dodge Challenger to compete at the NHRA Gatornationals drag racing event in March in Gainesville, Florida on a weekend when the Sprint Cup series is not running. Busch will be running in the Sportsman category where the cars can reach 165 mph in the quarter mile. Busch's car is a street-legal 1970 Challenger featuring a turbocharged, fuel-injected 426 Dodge Hemi V-8 engine which he says will be ready to race come March.
"We've gotten behind on finishing the Challenger, but we plan to be at the Gatornationals," he said. "It's been fun learning what the drag racing world is about."
The Gatornationals will take place March 11-14 at Gainsville Raceway.
