The British car magazine Evo has gotten their hands on one of the three existing Lexus LFAs and allows their Chris Harris to drive it on the street.
That may not seem like much, but so far the only way magazines and publishers have been able to drive the Lexus LFA was to go to a race tracks with silky smooth surfaces.
While not delivering performance you would expect from a $350,000 car, Chris Harris makes it clear that the car seems to be a driver's car with the best build quality. The car seems to give good feedback, and one of the best exhaust notes since the Ferrari F355.
Watching the video, one can't help but notice how quiet, Harris doesn't need to yell at you to tell you about the satellite navigation or the turn signal stalks.
It seems like it's a bit like a supercar Honda S2000, pretty normal below 7000rpm, but goes "completely potty" above that. To get the most out of the car, you have to rev the snot out of it. Harris also manages to get the back end out a bit on a public road as well.
Seeing the car on the street makes you wonder if the car is going to have NSX or Ferrari type maintenance requirements; something you can drive daily and not worry, or something that requires valve adjustments every 5,000 miles.
