The Lotus Evora is a more mature Elise. It may match the performance of the Elise, but has a more comfortable and practical interior.
So with the spotlight firmly on the Porsche 911 competitor, Lotus has decided to make the rambunctious sibling grow up a bit in 2011.
The Elise gets a facelift while the rear of the car remains unchanged. The headlights have changed from a cat-eye quad arrangement to a simplified triangular design. The boy racer front bumper is replaced with a more exotic, understated treatment that mimics the Evora well.
Rounding off the redesign are new lightweight looking 12-spoke wheels.
Jalopnik reports that mechanically the car will mostly unchanged, it's Toyota sourced 1.8L inline-four will make 197 hp without the supercharger, 217 hp with. However, Automobile magazine reports that the base car in other countries might be downsized to a 1.6L four in order to meet demanding fuel economy and emissions standards.
