Another factor holding sales down could be the unveiling of the 2011 Mustang V-6 and GT with the new more powerful engines. Buyers are probably holding off purchasing until the new models arrive at dealerships which means the first four months of 2010 are going to be rough for 2010 model sales. Sales of the Ford Mustang for January of 2010 were 4,747 compared to 2,944 from January of 2009 showing a 61.2% increase in sales from the previous year. Year to date Mustang sales are 4,747 compared to 2,944 for 2009, which is a 61% increase.
Month to Month sales were down quite a bit as December 2009 sales were 6,527 compared to January 2010 sales of 4,747 which is an 27% decrease.
Taking a look at the competition the Chevrolet Camaro sold 5,371 while the Dodge Challenger sold 1,683.
