Damage Mustangs at Russo and Steele
Bad weather and Collector cars never go well together and it was evident this past Thursday in Scottsdale when a Severe storm blew through town around 6:30 p.m. The Russo and Steele Collector car auction suffered the worst of it as two of their large tents covering about half of the vehicles going up for auctions were blown down by high wind gusts accompanied by heavy rain. One of the tents was actually lifted up and thrown onto a nearby freeway causing traffic delays for much of the night. Hundreds of cars under the tents suffered wide spread damage from the metal poles holding up the tents as they came crashing down. Estimates put the damage at over $1.5 million dollars but if you take a closer look at some of these photos the money figure could go much higher. Among the damaged cars were several Mustangs including a 1966 Shelby GT350,
CDC Flashback Mustang, late 60's Shelby GT500, 70's Mustangs and a
Ford GT. We have posted below the Mustang images and a link to the complete set of damaged cars at the Russo and Steele Auction.
