This past Saturday at the 39th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector car auction in Scottsdale, Arizona Ford Motor Company Executive Vice President Mark Fields alongside NASCAR driver Carl Edwards talked up the 2011 Mustang GT Daytona 500 pace car as it was being auctioned off.  During the auction Fields and Edwards threw in extras for the winning bidder including a lap around Daytona in the pace car with Edwards in the driver seat and the buyer will have the opportunity to be in the pits when the race starts.  The winning bid came out to an even $300,000 with all proceeds over MSRP going to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  The winner of the auction is none other than Ron Pratte who has bought a lot of various vehicles and Shelby Mustangs over the years at Barrett Jackson.
