  1. I see that "Race Red" is new. Curious to see how different it is from the previous color.

    Bad stuff?

  2. The new Race Red color is a little brighter and can be seen on the 2011 Daytona 500 pace car in a previous article.

  3. No spare tire, wheel, or jack on the 2011 Mustang. What happens if you pick up a piece of metal on the road, ruining your tire? You could end up stranded waitig for help. This is a stupid idea in order to eliminate weight or cost. Any other comments on this?

  4. Just bought 2011 Mustang. Very stupid idea. Was told putting donut on was not safe, any other options? Wrote letter to Ford, has not responded and it has been over a week.

  5. The reason for the missing spare is due to the fact that the trunk was originally designed for a doughnut-style (small form factor) tire and wheel. With the optional Brembo brake package a different wheel is required my the car. The reason for this is due to the much larger brake calipers. The stock-style wheels do not have the clearance to rotate without hitting the calipers. This creates a problem because since specialty wheels are required, conventional spares no longer fit. Ford's only option was to re-fabricate the entire trunk to allow for a full size spare wheel and tire. This would add a lot of expense and weight to the car. Since the majority of people who want the Brembo package are going to be racing them and want more speed, making their cars slower by adding weight to them would be counter productive.

  6. Just bought a 2011 stang.did not know or told about the no spare or jack problem .drive across west texas and have a blow out and see how roadside service helps then. this has got to be one of fords biggest SNAFU'S ever.lee.if he were dead, would roll over in his box.if they saved weight and money with this deal for racing buyers i wonder how many cars are sold to those folks compared with cars sold to the common pleasure driver.i make sure i tell any one that looks at my new car about fords direction of loyalty to buyers.
