So you want a Mercedes-Benz convertible, but you don't like the typical lot's selection of silver SLs and SLKs? That's OK, Mercedes-Benz has you covered with the SL Night Edition and SLK Grand Edition. As long as you live in Europe.

Mercedes-Benz goes over the top in typical carmaker style, calling these two special editions "masterpieces to dream of." Hyperbole aside, there's a lot to like in the features lists, and the combination of well-chosen themes makes for a pair of handsome cars.

For the SL Night Edition Mercedes adds 19-inch AMG five-spoke alloys in a high-gloss two-tone finish, silver-painted brake calipers, darkened headlamps and tail lights, a special badge on the front fenders and an optional designo magno matte black paint finish. Inside, the SL Night gets black nappa leather, chrome trim, arrow-shaped seams on the seats with contrasting features, a sport steering wheel and black shift lever and roof lining, plus the warming Airscarf system.

The SLK Grand Edition gets similar treatment, with 18-inch alloy wheels, silver hood fins, color-matched headlamp accents, a third brake light and a standard designo graphite paint color. Inside, the SLK Grand gets an understated grey-themed interior, nappa leather upholstery, red topstitching, and a Grand Edition logo embossed above the glove box.

Both versions are available as packages for order now in Germany starting from 2,300 Euros for the SLK Grand Edition and 3,700 Euros for the SL Night. There are no plans yet to make them available in the U.S.
