SMS Supercars, Steve Saleen's post-Saleen, Inc. venture, has revealed its latest take on a high-performance 2010 Chevrolet Camaro with the SMS 620. A snarling 6.2-liter V-8, whining SMS 296 supercharger and 575 horsepower are sure to put the fear into the average street car. And that's before you get to the 715-horsepower SMS 620X.

The 600-pound-foot torque figure is pretty imposing, too. But the spec sheet can't touch the low-aero body kit, custom hood or SMS-badged grille for sheer menacing impact. There's nothing about the SMS 620 that doesn't shout, "You lookin' at me?!"

It's got some bite to back up its bark, too, scooting to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. If that's not enough for you, there's the SMS 620X. While it's not yet released, the SMS 620X uses the same supercharger in a higher state of tune to deliver 715 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque. That's enough to push the 620X "closer to 4.0" seconds 0-60, according to SMS Supercars' estimates. The 620X also gets optional Magneto-Rheological Semi-Active Dampers like those found on the Corvette, plus a Torvec Isotorque diff and 21-inch rear wheels. Sixteen-inch, eight-piston front brakes and 14-inch, six-piston rears ensure the car stops as well as it goes.

Inside, the SMS 620 Camaro gets custom gauges and Alcantara/leather seats with Signature Series stripes. A range of dress-up accessories can be had under the hood, and 12 "show car quality" custom SMS exterior colors are also available.

The SMS 620 and SMS 620X join SMS Supercars' other hot muscle cars, the 570 Challenger, the 460 Mustang and the 25A Mustang. The SMS 620 will be launched in the second quarter of 2010.

  1. Magneto-Rheological and Torvec Isotorque could only come from one man and that is Professor Charles Xavier from the X-Men..
    and that's one hell of a muscle-car!

    Bad stuff?

  2. I like the stitching on the interior. But come on Chevy! How much money could you make from the mullet-brigade charging a premium for this ostentatious special edition?

  3. Hi Guy's,
Steve S. has done some nice stuff over the years and his Saleens held a decent resale value, but with better cars from the manufactures and with so many special addition muscle cars today I'm not so sure that can be said anymore. Pick your poison and drive it, but don't think you have a collector car.
