2009 Mini Beachcomber concept

You're under a very large rock indeed if you've escaped the hype of the impending 2010 Detroit Auto Show, but even if you have, MINI is ready with a crowbar and a flashlight. Well, figuratively: this teaser video highlights MINI's presence at the show, including the Beachcomber Concept.

As we showed you in our Beachcomber Concept preview, the new vehicle is a door-less beach cruiser that's expected to preview the brand's upcoming and long-anticipated crossover. Today's video doesn't give us a whole lot new to work with on the Beachcomber, but it does spend a good bit of time focusing on two other, more familiar MINIs: the MINI E and the MINI Cooper John Cooper Works hot hatch.

Check out the hype below, and be sure to stay tuned throughout the show for our live coverage from the Detroit Auto Show floor.

  1. Great post.I would like to say one of the most exciting prospects is the possibility of a turbocharged and all-wheel drive version that Buick will be previewing at next week's 2010 Detroit Auto Show in the form of the Buick Regal GS concept car.
