Mercedes-Benz has taken the wraps off its all-new 2011 E-Class Cabriolet, and will bring the new ragtop to the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. The car is the replacement for the open-top CLK and is the fourth addition to the expanding E-Class family, joining the Sedan, Coupe and high-performance E63 AMG variants. Going up against the BMW 3-Series, Audi A5, Infiniti G37 and Lexus IS C, the new 2011 E-Class Cabriolet comes with a raft of new technologies to keep its occupants both safe and comfortable. The list includes cool new features like AIRCAP and AIRSCARF, which are designed to keep occupants comfortable whenever the car’s soft-top roof is down--whatever the season--by reducing turbulence and blowing warm air.

2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

The 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe is out, after a Los Angeles auto show debut. Now the high-performance CTS-V version is due. Coming in as a 2011 model as well, the new CTS-V Coupe will pack the same 556 hp and 551 pound-feet of torque supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 found in the regular CTS-V Sedan. That could be joined by a CTS-V Wagon, if GM's Bob Lutz gets his way. If not, don't expect a convertible: the Coupe's architecture just doesn't permit that kind of flexibility. We have live images of the CTS-V Coupe from Detroit right here.

2011 Ford Mustang

At the 2009 L.A. Show, we brought you word of the 2011 Mustang's new V-6 engine, a 3.7-liter Duratec V-6 with 315 horsepower. For Detroit, the 2011 Mustang returns to the hallmark V-8 displacement of the recent past. Yep, in shorthand, the 5.0 Mustang is back. Vanilla Ice be praised, it'll turn in 412 horsepower--only 14 hp or so less than the Chevrolet Camaro SS. Check out the live photos here.

2012 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible

We all know the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible is due to go on sale in the second quarter of 2011, which is still a significant length of time away we’re sure most of you would agree. However, if you’re already having trouble waiting, Chevrolet will offer some solace by showing the new drop-top in full production trim at next month’s 2010 Detroit Auto Show.

BMW is adding an upgraded Z4 to its lineup, but it's not calling the new car an M model. With 335 hp, though, it's as close as BMW may come in the current Z4. According to BMW it will sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds and easily reach an electronically controlled top speed of 155 mph.

  2. The Detroit Auto Show typically has three press days, starting on Sunday. The big debuts occur on Sunday and Monday morning, with other automakers taking time in the afternoon. Tuesdays were reserved for smaller companies, parts manufacturers and anyone else who was not a major automaker.

  3. Out of the nominees for the North American Car/Truck of the year for 2010 I would chose the Buick LaCrosse and Chevy Equinox. GM deserves it because they have worked hard and turned out great products in a short-time. Of course, we would have liked this alot sooner but I guess things had to get worse before they got better. Chevy did a great job with the new Equinox and so did Buick with the new LaCrosse but the Invicta name sounded a lot cooler which was the concept name of the new body LaCrosse.

  4. Chrysler, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and MINI show the world what electric vehicles of the future will look like and it looks fun.The 2009 Detroit Auto Show feels eerily analogous,a distraction amid a looming disaster.December 18th, 2009 It's another winter of discontent in the Motor City.
