2011 Audi A8

Lightness is a focus throughout the new A8, right down to the brakes: Audi saved 8.25 pounds per wheel with aluminum brake hats on the four-wheel discs. Wheel sizes ranging from 17 to 21 inches allow a choice of appearance or performance options, and the tires have been optimized to compromise grip, comfort and rolling resistance.

Adaptive air suspension enables the 2011 Audi A8 to adjust its demeanor to suit the road and driving style as needed. Capable of lowering the car up to 25 mm on demand, the adaptive system is also able to lift the car slightly when extra clearance is needed, for example in steep lot entry situations. Combined with this adjustable suspension is an ESP stability system with both sport and disabled modes.

A wide range of high-tech safety systems are also available, including Audi pre-sense basic, which uses data from the stability system to close windows and tension the seat belts in preparation for an accident. Also available is the stop & go system, which monitors traffic in front of the car to help provide the driver with warning of an impending collision as well as pre-loading the brake system for maximum effectiveness.

The upgraded MMI infotainment system offers a 3D-terrain model map of the surrounding environs, animted route guidance, and predictive road network monitoring to deliver the best directions possible. It also operates the 1,400 watt, 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. A rear-seat entertainment system is available, which can read data from the 20GB internal hard disk or memory card slots, plus its own built-in DVD drive.

  1. It's an A8 and it's hot, but it seems a little "plain" compared to the S550. Mercedes, you created a beautiful car, I want the S550 with an AMG kit in White please. Neither the BMW 7 series nor this car holds a candle to the S550 with an AMG kit.

  2. The current gen A8 is still my favorite full sized sedan out of BMW, MB, Lexus, and Audi. They're so classy and there's really not many of them out there compared to the 7 series.
I'm sure Audi wont mess this up, I'm assuming the front end will look similar to the R8.

  3. With the previous A8 it seemed to have a bit more imposing stance ( maybe because of it's larger grille and/or somewhat the car has got more rounded mass/girth ).. while this new model is both sharp and athletic.
At first glance the cabin seems to have been carried-over with just a few minor switches being re-arranged but is still very much opulent and luxurious.

  4. Not that big of a change from the previous model. The front lights' LED's line doesn't seem to match the design of the car...

  6. i want something abit more grand from audi, i know the a8 is great by being understated but i think it needs something to make the s class shake in its boots, like some flared wheel arches or something... the interior is beautiful though! =]

  7. The only reason I would ever buy this car is that beautiful interior... Absolutely stunning... But I refuse to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for a car that has great huge gaps where two panels meet at the back... It looks absolutely horrible... But I think the engines and interior could probably make up for that... Maybe...

    372 horsepower .. is amazing.
Also I lead an Audi, but I still have not enough money for an A8.
However the price is good fot Audi A8, compared with the car performances.
