Camaro Pace Car Arrives at NASCAR's Dickies 500 in Chinook Helicopter

This past weekend before the NASCAR Dickies 500 race at Texas Motor Speedway a 2010 Camaro SS pace car was delivered to the track in a CH-47 Chinook helicopter out of Fort Hood.  The Camaro pace car was loaded in the back of the Chinook helicopter which landed just at the end of pit road.  Once the helicopter landed out came the pace car and off went the helicopter.  In the drivers seat of the Camaro pace car was NASA astronaunt Doug Hurley who is a TMS season ticket holder, a US Marine Corps Colonel and most recently the pilot of the shuttle Endeavour's STS-127 mission.  I am not sure there is a better way to arrive at the track, the whole experience for Hurley and the fans had to be exilerating.  Check out the video above for all the action.
