Matt brings to the table a very intimate knowledge of modern Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers not only from the books in his collection but from... More
All the buzz swirling before the SEMA show last week was on one Camaro model photographed before the show opened. It was the Silver model and many on the internet thought it might be the rumored Z28 Camaro but it turned out not to be. Instead it was a one-of-a-kind twin-turbocharged Camaro built for Jay Leno. Leno's Camaro packs a 3.6-liter direct injected V-6 using a pair of Turbonetics T-3 turbochargers with a custom air-to-air intercooler that feeds the engine about seven pounds of boost. The engine is good for about 425 horsepower, just enough to smoke the tires as Jay has already said he will do when he gets it back to his shop. Jay wanted to build the Camaro to satisfy those who wanted the fuel efficiency of a V-6 and the power of a V-8.
Other modifications made to the Camaro include a larger capacity Be-Kool radiator, custom exhaust system, Centerforce clutch and pressure plate for six-speed manual, Brembo six-piston brake package, Pedders coil-over lowering kit, new one-off front fascia with custom fog lamps and integral brake cooling vents and air extractor style hood.

Just about anything is possible if you have enough money and influence. Jay Leno has both. Great looking car and it would make a good Z28 Camaro. Go to it GM.
