Chrysler has released August sales figures for the Dodge Challenger and just like we thought sales have increased.  With all that Chrysler was going through last month with the sale to Fiat and the plant closures we knew the only direction sales could go were up.  With the plants open again and production ramping back up deliveries can now get back to normal and hopefully we will see another increase for September.

Sales of the Dodge Challenger for August of 2009 were 1,132 compared to 2,077 from July of 2008 showing a 45% decrease in sales from the previous year. Year to date Challenger sales are 17,100 compared to 6,067 for 2008, which is a 182% gain.

Month to Month sales were up as July 2009 Challenger sales were 886 compared to August 2009 sales of 1,132 which is a 22% increase from the previous month.

For previous months of Challenger sales check out July 2009, June 2009, May 2009, April 2009 and February 2008 -  February 2009.

  1. It's very misleading to compare first Limited Production year, 2008 to 2009. There were only 6400 SRT8 made for 2008.

  3. Car sales are down, maybe its becuase 1/2 the showrooms are closed and they stopped making cars for 90 days. These numbers are skewed by the fact that their are no cars to sell. Make some damn cars already.

  4. The challenger is a crappy car and sales for August proved that without a doubt. The plants were running full tilt and in august and part or July so no excusses for poor sales.
