It's been almost two years since the tuners from Hennessey announced that they were going to create a new supercar, the Venom GT, and most people had begun to think that this would never come true.
Still, Hennessey has just announced that the new Venom GT is going to make its debut at the Geneva Auto Show in 2010. During this two year period, the car has suffered several improvements since it was first announced.
First of all, the overall weight has decreased from the initial 1.225kg to about 1.088kg. Secondly, the first engine which was chosen for the car, a Viper V10 twin turbo has been replaced with a Hennessey V8. Thus, even though the initial power was said to be about 1.000HP, the Venom GT now reaches 1200HP. Obviously, this supercar will have astounding performance: it accelerates to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds, to 240 km/h in only 8.9 seconds and to 322 km/h in 14.3 seconds. If you're still not impressed, you should now that the Venom GT will have a maximum speed of 438 km/h.
All in all, the Venom GT will probably be one of the main attractions at the Geneva Auto Show 2010. My only concern about this new supercar is the price tag.
