We've shared the 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia with you before--in a special preview of the 2009 Frankfurt auto show and elsewhere.

Here's a video clip just released by Ferrari, to add to the pile of Italia media until we can get our hands on more from the upcoming Frankfurt show. In it, according to Italy's version of Autoblog, the director of Ferrari's brand marketing Dany Bahar, and technical director Roberto Fedeli, drop some new details of the new berlinetta from Maranello.

According to them, the 458 Italia's been designed for use on the street and on the track. Direct steering, a completely new suspension and the dual-clutch transmission engage the driver more, while ideal weight balance and more than 800 pounds of downforce on the rear end at 200 mph should keep it planted on road courses. To all that they add, the Italia is cozy for everyday driving.

We're hotly anticipating the day we test both of those claims. There's more to come from Frankfurt in four weeks.

Warning: you'll need those college Italian skills for the middle chunk of video.

  1. That is one gorgeous new Ferrari! But pardon me for saying so - did some Gen X/Y guy get a hold of a new, "awesome FUBAR" headlight design from a SEMA buddy and forget to tell the team designing and making molds for the hood? Looks like they tried a little unsucessful squeezing on the lights vs hood situation. I'd keep my P4. Otherwise, I want one!

  2. What an amazing evolution from the 430. And kudos to them for avoiding forced induction all these years.
