Miller Motorsports Park Purchases all Remaining FR500S Ford Mustangs

If you still have the urge to drive in the Mustang Challenge racing series I know where you can now purchase an FR500S Mustang.  Miller Motorsports Park has purchased the remaining 35 FR500S Ford Mustangs with the intention to add some of them to their fleet at the Miller Performance Training program along with keeping some on hand for new drivers who would like to purchase one to drive in the Mustang Challenge race series.  Another one will be added to the museum at the track for visitors to get an up close and personal look at it.

"Miller Motorsports Park is very committed to having the Mustang as the focal point for several of our motorsports programs," said Miller Group C.E.O Greg Miller.

Miller goes on to say, "Securing the remaining examples of the FR500S allows us to not only create the opportunity for students to experience the car in a learning environment, but it also ensures that new drivers who are interested in joining the series will have that opportunity as well. We are also going to be adding one example to the museum at the track for our visitors to get a little bit longer look at the car than you might at the track. We are of course very much looking forward to seeing a whole field of FR500Ss race again when the Mustang Challenge season finale is here on the home track in September."

Following a successful debut race event at Autobahn Country Club at the Harrah's Grand Prix presented by Mazda, Ford Racing Mustang Challenge officials announced on Monday that Miller Motorsports Park has secured the remaining 35 Ford Mustang FR500S machines. The FR500S is the competition platform for the Mustang Challenge, which is the only national race series operated by a track, as the series was formed in collaboration between Miller Motorsports Park and Ford Racing.

Racing with sanctioning from Grand-Am, the Mustang Challenge has made history, proving to be a hit with racers and fans alike. Strong fields of racers with diverse backgrounds have provided highly entertaining racing, as series regulations keep the adjustments to the FR500S to a minimum, making the race action very close as the driving is the key factor to success.

Even before the FR500S took the first green flag in the series' first-ever race in April 2008 at Road Atlanta, the special Ford Mustang was making history. For the first time in Ford's long competition history, the FR500S was the first Blue Oval racer to come directly from the production line in Michigan to the track. The car was initially available for sale through the nationwide networks of Ford dealerships, with owners needing to just select "FR500S" on the options box.

Several examples of the machine are also expected to be integrated into the fleet at the Miller Performance Training Center, which is based at Miller Motorsports Park. Designed for the high performance-driving enthusiast, the school provides professional instruction ranging from basic vehicle dynamics and car control to learning the fundamentals of high performance driving
