Jay Leno is recognized throughout the motoring world as a 'car guy's car guy', so it's no surprise he got a chance to hop behind the wheel of the 2010 Porsche Panamera at this past weekend's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Nor is it a surprise that he gave the car's launch control a sampling. But that doesn't mean it's not fun to watch.

The car gets a basic once-over before being put through its paces, and Leno - like many buyers and enthusiasts - seems to still be somewhat ambivalent about the Porsche sedan's looks. But when the brake pedal is held in Super Sport mode and the accelerator is floored, the magic that happens, both in terms of sound and speed, seems to nudge him a bit closer to appreciating the car for what it is - Porsche's first attempt at a 'super-sedan'.

    The US is lucky to be able to drive big cars all around. Our streets and land here(Australia) are just getting smaller every year. I think the more you look at this Porsche Panamera the better it gets. So they did a good job.

    My question is did he buy one? Thats how you can tell if he thinks is a decent car.

    I think Porsche is being unique in this sector. This is a wierd design, ugly from alot of angles, but fantastic from others. I think it is interesting personally. The interior is neat and the performance from the Turbo is remarkable. This car, just like the Cayenne before it, has a purpose and will probably be top of the class dynamics-wise.
