Electricity and high-performance cars may or may not mix, depending on your frame of reference, but whether you're a
Tesla fan or a Formula 1 devotee, it's easy to agree that a
hybrid or even an all-electric Porsche 911 would be a welcome creation. Porsche's Wolfgang Durheimer recently discussed the issue, but
despite his hints, revealed no plans for production.
These latest spy shots reveal what appears to be a Porsche 911 prototype sporting a mysterious bulge on the front hood. Attached to this bulge is an electric flash sticker, but whether this is just a ruse thought up by some cheeky engineers remains to be seen. The car is also sporting a Batman symbol in place of the standard Porsche badge. According to the photographers that took these shots, the prototype was running very quiet for a 911.
With hybrid versions of both the
Cayenne and
Panamera coming soon, it makes sense to transform the technology to the 911 model as well, especially with new limits to CO2 and fuel-economy regulations being developed by governments around the globe.
But don't let your mouth start watering with dreams of unlimited torque, instant response, four-wheel motors and continuous traction control - all marshaled with Porsche finesse and handling - just yet. Porsche’s Durheimer said there are no plans for such a vehicle anytime soon.

No, Porsche already gets great milage with low emissions from its cars (Cayenne does not count since it is really a VW)

25 Highway MPG for a base 911 is "Great"?
Seems like there's plenty of room for improvement...

i just dont get it... if they drop the flat6 engine for this then im officially no longer a fan of porsche..
instead of making supercars with v12 or v10 they go and dilute the brand some more...
really, now we should all categorize porsche together with the beemers and audi out there..
