Caterham has responded to the strong demand for its iconic Seven roadsters by increasing production levels by more than 10%. With the company recently attaining European-wide homologation for its range of lightweight roadsters, demand has reached above forecast levels and new markets are continuously emerging.

The increase in demand means that Caterham will not only produce about 420 units but will also have to add to the 45-plus workforce based at its factory in Kent, England. The additional staff will be recruited to the production side of the business to help with the increased pressure on an order book that is already full until mid-October.

The company is now in the process of launching an international sales drive, following the success of the intial drive that opened up markets in France, Italy, Japan and Germany.
