The Porsche Cayman GT4 is one of the purest sports cars money can buy. With naturally aspirated power, a conventional six-speed manual transmission and a mid-engine body, the Cayman GT4 is a rare sight in a world where turbocharging, hybrid technology and automated transmissions are diluting the basic sports car formula.

In the video above, legendary rally driver and official Porsche tester Walter Röhrl takes a quick spin in the Cayman GT4 and describes what it’s like behind the wheel. He’s particularly pleased with how easy the car is to drive, despite it being so capable at the track.

The Cayman GT4 is powered by a 3.8-liter flat-fix, mid-mounted and turned to deliver 385 horsepower. The only transmission is a six-speed manual, and drive is to the rear wheels only. The claimed 0-60 mph time is just 4.2 seconds, while the top speed is 183 mph.

Sales commence in July, with pricing starting from $85,595 when you include Porsche’s standard $995 destination charge. We suspect there'll be high demand for these babies as well as tight supplies, so you’d better get friendly with your local Porsche dealer real quick if you’re hoping to see one parked in your driveway anytime soon.
