Keeping a brand alive is about more than turning out the same dependable products year after year - some risk is necessary to draw in new blood. Mercedes-Benz knows this well, and its new SLK 2LOOK Edition is targeted at a markedly younger crowd than its typical buyer.

With a choice of either 'calcite' white or black as standard colors and optional metallic black or 'designo mystic' white, the monochromatic theme keys into the latest trends. Matte-look elements also tap into the fashionable ethos, while black headlight surrounds further set the 2LOOK apart.

Unique 18in split-spoke wheels in staggered tire sizes (225 width front, 245 width rear) are also available in a choice of finishes: either high-gloss titanium or dark chrome shadow.

Inside the two-color theme carries forward, with nappa leather in contrasting white and black. The doors and armrests are also wrapped in high-grade leather, while the seams are all decorated with contrasting accents.

The SLK 2LOOK package is available on the SLK 200 Kompressor, SLK 300 and SLK 350 engine variants, for a premium of €2,100 ($2,600) over the standard car. The optional paint finishes add another €580 ($730).
