Niche German sports carmaker, Wiesmann, recently celebrated its 20th birthday and to mark the anniversary the Dülmen-based manufacturer will be releasing a string of special '20th Anniversary Editions' models over the course of the year. The first of these special editions has just been revealed in the form of the GT MF4-S.

The closed two-seater is still powered by a BMW-sourced 4.8L V8 engine but output has been lifted to 420hp (309kW) - the standard GT MF4 produces 367hp (270kW). Transmission options include a standard six-speed manual or a new dual-clutch unit.

In addition to the more powerful engine, the cars are also fitted with a center console featuring an engraved plaque with the name of the car's owner, the production number and the signatures of the Wiesmann brothers. Additionally, there will be unique embroidery in the seats and custom instrumentation to further differentiate it from the standard model.

The special editions will be produced in restricted runs, with just 30 examples allotted for the six-cylinder MF3 and 20 for the MF4 and V10-powered MF5.

  1. I've always liked these. A quintessentially British car built by the Germans. Reminds me of a cross between a Jag XK150 and Austin-Healey 3000.
