January 22, 2015 Update: The BBC has obtained security footage showing the crime taking place. Unfortunately, none of the thieves have been identified and 40 of the trophies still remain missing. Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner described the theft as being a "pointless crime" and said the trophies, though offering very little monetary value, had “huge” emotional value.
December 18, 2014 Update: About 20 of the 60 stolen trophies have been found in a lake, not far from the crime scene. While many of them were damaged, the good news is that Red Bull's most prized trophies, the ones for the Formula One Drivers' and Constructors' championships, were only replicas, with the originals kept outside the team's headquarters.
In a bizarre incident, a group of thieves on December 6, 2014 drove a car through the front entrance of the headquarters of the Red Bull Racing Formula One team in Milton Keynes, England, just so they could make off with the team’s trophies. There were some night staff on the premises during the robbery, but fortunately they were unharmed.

Security footage showed six men taking part in the robbery, which saw 64 of the team's 120 trophies stolen. Considering that the thieves were seen simply throwing the trophies into a getaway vehicle, it is believed the trophies may be melted down for the value of their metal, which is mostly silver. Most agree it will be hard to sell them in their original state.
Most of the trophies were earned by the team during its run of four world championships from 2010 through 2013.

"We are obviously devastated by this serious factory break in, which saw offenders drive a vehicle through our front entrance and steal more than 60 trophies which took years and hard work to accumulate,” Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner said in a statement. “The value to the team is of course extraordinarily high due to the sheer hard work and effort that went into winning each and every one.”
Local police are appealing to anyone that might have information on the whereabouts of the trophies or the offenders involved to come forward.
