The category of world’s most indulgent car is about to get a new member in the form of the Rolls Royce Corniche. The Phantom-based convertible caught testing in California shows that Rolls Royce is staying true to the styling of the100EX concept car.

The photos clearly show the car will have the rear-hinged 'suicide' doors and the body will most likely utilise aluminium construction to minimise weight.

Going head to head with the new Bentley Azure, a possible Maybach/Mercedes S-Class convertible and with the previewed 101EX coupe version in the pipeline, the super-luxury segment is seriously heating up.
