Leaked: Volvo C30 pics

Photos of the production version of the hot new Volvo C30 hatch have been leaked online, and show that the final car still retains many of the styling cues seen in the concept. The C30 is Volvo’s answer to Audi’s A3 and BMW’s 1-series models, and comes just in time to take advantage of the upswing in buyer demand for smaller cars.

You may remember that the concept car was supposed to come with a turbocharged five-cylinder engine producing approximately 260 hp and 258 lbs-ft of torque, but there’s still no confirmation whether this engine will make it to the production model. We expect a similar engine lineup to Volvo’s current S40 and V50 models.

We’re impressed with the models that Volvo has been releasing lately. The S80 brought some interesting innovations to the high-end luxury market, and the C30 should compete nicely alongside the Golf GTI and 130i in the hot hatch market.
