Not only is Alfa Romeo bringing in its svelte looking 159 saloon to the US, but in the latest news, Alfa will kick off its return with the introduction of the limited-edition 8c Competizione. Though the Italian brand won’t sell any cars in the US in volume until 2010, deliveries for the 8c Competizione will begin in late 2008.

The US will get half of the 8c Competizione’s total production of 500 hundred cars, so expect to pay at least $200,000. For that kind of money you get a car built with carbon-fibre and powered by a Maserati 4.2-liter V8 engine, which will produce more than 400 hp (297 kW). In 2009 a convertible version called the 8c Spider will go on sale.
