Mercedes-Benz has been offering its military inspired G-Wagen to civilians since 1979. In terms of design, nothing much has changed since the original.

For the 2007 model year, Mercedes tuning arm AMG has bumped up power to 500 horsepower from the vehicle's supercharged 5.5-liter V-8 while maximum torque is 516 pound-feet at 4,000 rpm.

This enables the massive truck to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 5.5 seconds, should there be the need to outrun any commandos down at your local Wal-Mart.

You can’t go trekking through wasteland without some decent alloys, so AMG has provided a set of polished 18-inch light alloys painted in titanium gray.
