Motorists are now able to try an updated version of Fiat and Microsoft’s combined efforts in the world of automotive technology in the new Grande Punto. Don’t worry. This doesn’t mean you’ll have to send an error report every time your car breaks down.

The system known as Blue&Me, can control the car's audio system via voice, acts as a handsfree kit for your mobile via Bluetooth, can read out SMS messages out loud and even allows you to listen to music stored on a mobile phone, MP3 readers or USB removable sticks. Plans are already underway to integrate a GPS navigation system, weather and traffic forecasts plus satellite tracking in case of theft. Since everything can be controlled via steering wheel mounted buttons, hopefully we will see an end to motorists answering calls or trying to read an SMS whilst driving.
