Labelled a design study by Volkswagen’s California Design Center, the new EOS Highway 1 made an appearance at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance over the weekend. Based on the regular EOS coupe, the new convertible sits about one inch lower thanks to a set of H&R Special Springs’ coil-over suspension. Other unique features include the two-tone leather, piano gloss trim and the 20-inch Mille Miglia multi-spoke alloy wheels. The design theme for the car was the minute details that communicate performance.

The EOS Highway 1 is powered by the same 250hp 3.2-liter V6 found in the coupe mated to VW’s DSG double-clutch 6-speed auto with Tiptronic, which combines full auto or manual control. Sales of the Highway 1 start from October 2 this year for $36,850.
