Though the AMG division is no stranger to building fast cars, even they build a special limited edition of cars with a little extra spark for their exclusive Black Series range of vehicles.

AMG's new design studio will deliver cars in three different categories with the Black Series sitting in the middle. This series specialises in stripped out vehicles with a strong focus on performance. Spy photographer Hans Lehmann snapped the latest Black Series car during testing at the Nürburgring, almost completely exposed. The only parts covered are the signature air outlets in the widened front fenders.

AMG will probably fit the Black Series CLK with the Mercedes 6.3L V8 “family” engine that’s found its way into many of their high performance models. Power output is expected to be between 580-600hp (approx 430kW). It’s expected to be priced at 230,000 Euros and will be able to hold its own with most supercars.
