Recently, images of a heavily disguised Volvo test mule have been circulating around the net. That image didn’t really reveal any details, but the new car has been revealed and can be seen by clicking here. The new car will also spawn an off-road XC70 crossover version and both cars should adopt styling cues from the current S80 sedan.

In an effort to save costs, the new Volvos will likely be based on the S80’s platform, which is also shared by US-market Fords such as the Five Hundred and upcoming Lincoln models. Swedish sources put the car’s release date sometime in 2008 but it should make an official debut next year at the Geneva Motor Show.
