Maserati will reveal its MC12 Versione Corse for the first time at next month’s Bologna Motor Show. The Versione Corse is a track-only car derived from Maserati's MC12 GT1 race car, and is aimed at well-heeled track enthusiasts.

The Versione Corse features a modified version of the 6.0-liter V-12 shared by Ferrari’s FXX and develops a full 755 horsepower (up from 630 hp in the standard model) at 8,000 rpm with maximum torque of 523 pound-feet all the way to 6,000 rpm.

Accelerating to 124 mph takes just 6.4 seconds, while maximum speed is a lofty 202 mph. Drive is sent through a heavily revised version of the six-speed Cambiocorsa gearbox that improves on the speed of the shifts.

Just 12 examples are destined for production. Owners will be treated with special track days run by Maserati, where they’ll receive invaluable training on high-performance driving from the company’s race team.
