Lotus reveals information about Esprit development

Lotus has released its industry newsletter with lots of new information regarding the engineering work going on behind the Esprit replacement, as well as sketches of its future model lineup. Lotus aims greatly expand its sales figures by introducing three new models: the Esprit supercar, a front-engined RWD GT coupe, and a 4x4 7-seat crossover. It also talks about the construction of the Versatile Vehicle Architecture (VVA) that will allow all three vehicles to share the same platform.

Apart from this insider information, the newsletter itself is a great read. There are articles about the use of aluminum technology in cars, and the difficulties faced by niche car manufacturers when developing new models. And unlike other company newsletters, Lotus doesn’t pretend it’s the only auto company in the world.

  1. This is pretty old news. There are already pictures of camouflaged prototypes out testing (on other sites)

  2. Yes, but the news is that Lotus is discussing the creation of the structure and platform surrounding these vehicles, which they haven\'t done before. I\'ll change the title to more accurately reflect that.
