Dutch brand Spyker is rumored to be developing a premium four-door sedan with coupe styling to rival the upcoming Panamera from
Porsche and Rapide sedan from
Aston Martin. Our friends over at
Autoblog.nl have speculated that the new car will most likely be called the E8 or E12, following Spyker’s naming nomenclature that uses a “C” for its sports
coupes, “D” for its upcoming SUV-crossover and now “E” for its future sedan model. The 8 or 12 designates either a V8 or V12 powerplant.
After a tumultuous history involving numerous near-bankrupticies, Spyker was reformed and a new company set-up as recently as 1999. Spyker has since started its own F1 team, and is expected to unveil a new limited edition flagship model penned by Italian design house Zagato at next month’s Geneva Motor Show as well as the production version of the upcoming D12 high performance SUV, which it displayed as a concept car (pictured) at last year's show.
