Kia has released a teaser image of a new concept car developed by its European design center that will be presented for the first time at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The new concept was designed under the guidance of Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer, formerly of Audi, and is the follow up to the stylish ex_cee’d cabrio concept car from the Geneva Show.

Following the reveal of this teaser, Schreyer described how Kia had given him the opportunity to shape the carmaker’s whole brand design and character. “Seldom does a designer have such a clean sheet to work with. We started this exciting journey with the Kia ex_cee’d cabrio concept at the Geneva Show back in March, and at Frankfurt I’m sure Kia will surprise the entire automotive world when people see our new sports coupe concept in the metal,” he explained.

The new concept will be a 2+2 coupe that will be fully designed and constructed in Europe, and we’re hoping that it’ll lead to a new and affordable production sports car.

  1. Definitely not a concept anymore. Just recieved 2 of them in Chino to be sent off for hot weather testing in DV, CA. Not only that, its the base for the new RWD platform. Eat your heart out. Dont believe me? You guys can get spy shots eventually, stalk the valley....you might see my pretty face.
