Audi has gone one up on
Lexus by offering the world’s first all-LED headlights for its new R8 sports car. Unlike the units in Lexus’ flagship LS 600h saloon, which use LED lights for the low-beam projectors, the new Audi lights use the efficient diodes for the low and high beams as well as the daytime running lights and turn signals.
Individual LEDs, of which there are 54 in each headlight, are grouped into small clusters that gave developers greater freedom for their designs as the diodes can be placed in unconventional arrangements and patterns.
Other benefits of LEDs are their much longer lifespan, more natural looking light, smaller overall size and lower power usage (50 Watts for low beam and 6 Watts for daytime runners).

Side note: Why the heck is it when some manufacturers started using LEDs and its as if a big fuss... the technology is CHEAP, abundant, whats the hype bout those who're using it and WHY so few are using them ?
